We have been regular patrons of Bison County for years, but this time it was, without a doubt, our worst experience. The highlight of our visit was the hostess, who kindly accommodated our request to move from a high-top table to a regular one. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. We endured an unusually long wait for our food, and some of the portion sizes seemed to have shrunk dramatically over time. One of our group even found a foreign object in their meal. My family and I have been regulars at Bison County for more than 21 years. The reason you go to a restaurant like this for so long is because it is consistently excellent. In the last two years, there have been some nice changes to the menu: the Southwestern Eggroll is an exceptional treat. But some things are always the same: the Bison Burgers are cooked to perfection and the Carolina Wings are succulent. In that rare time we had bad service (all places are understaffed at one time or another), the owner courteously offered a gift certificate to compensate us for our one bad time. We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. They offer a wide menu with plenty of appetizer choices and a good selection of beers. However, it would be helpful if they advertised the beer prices. My boyfriend ordered one that ended up costing $14, which was fine, but he would have ordered a second one if he had known the price upfront. Our server was a young man who was incredibly sweet and attentive. We’re definitely planning to return—it's great to have a local spot in South/Backq!

Gave this place a second shot, won’t give it a third. Prices are too high for the quality of the food. I’d rate the food “okay” at best. The Burnt ends plate came on a bed of mayo doused coleslaw without mentioning the slaw in the menu. IMO, the BBQ should never sit on top of or be mixed with anything. That’s like placing a ribeye steak over mashed potatoes. Our bill for 2 entrees and 2 drinks was $60. Cant say it was worth it.
Really great service and the food was awesome! They have a fairly large menu and lots of appetizer options and a solid beer selection. They should list beer prices though. My BF ordered one that turned out to be $14. That’s okay, but he would’ve ordered a different one if he knew that was the case. Our server was a young dude, but very sweet and attentive. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection, with wonderful side dishes and minimal wait times for all courses, including appetizers. The portions were surprisingly generous, making it challenging to finish everything in one sitting, but it was definitely good value for the price. I really appreciated the variety of menu options and am looking forward to visiting again to try more dishes.
The wings were outstanding, while the brisket and rack of ribs were just average. The service, however, was excellent.
