The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. We were greeted warmly and made to feel genuinely appreciated. The restaurant is small and fills up quickly, but our waiter remained attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Starting with the martini, the bartender actually asked if I preferred it stirred or shaken, which was a first for me. I opted for stirred, the proper choice to keep the gin from being bruised. We shared an order of regular French fries—no truffle or parmesan—and they were perfectly cooked with just a hint of salt and pepper, despite not being listed on the menu. My wife enjoyed the squash soup and a side of carrots drizzled with a balsamic reduction, both...

There 's a finesse about the decor, the drinks, and the diners. Unfortunately, aside from the bartender, that finesse is missing in the Staff. The appetizer was good, the entree was acceptable, and dessert was a disaster. The only thing I would recommend without hesitation or caveat is a cocktail (again, props to the bartender, who kept things clean, calm, and welcoming). Some dishes looked not entirely clean, and one was chipped and cracked. Some menu items were missing or not quite ready for serving at this time. We were visiting Knoxville for a few days and thankfully found the perfect spot for a date night! Quiet enough for conversation, and a compact but diverse food menu. We had the seasonal hummus plate, pork ribs and bouillabaisse to share. Drinks included crafted cocktails and an excellent wine list. Will definitely return on our next trip to town!

Amelia was an excellent server. The black Manhattans we had were exceptional. My wife absolutely loved the new salad. The food was fantastic overall. We had a wonderful evening celebrating our anniversary.

It's a fine date night spot but nothing really blows you away. The drinks, the dishes, the vibe, it's all just a bit expected. For the price, there are better options in Knoxville.

Solid good choices. Appetizers are frequently meal sized. Pricey, but easy to share. Good wine and also great non-alcoholic cocktails.
