We have stopped by this place every year. We usually spend a few days in Chateauneuf du Pape in the spring. Quite often we will just sit in the square in the sun and have a coffee, it is a great spot to sit and watch the world go by. And good coffee too.We have had several meals here over the years, this year we had a delicious plate of charcuterie at lunch, and on another occasion a lamb shank which was beautifully but simply cooked and very good value for money.We have always had a warm welcome at Bistrot de la Nerthe, the owners are very friendly.We are looking forward to another coffee in the sun next year.Thanks so much, it is a great place in the middle of the village. We stopped to have lunch here as the menu seemed very nice. Service was a bit slow as there were only two waiting staff. I ordered chicken in tarragon sauce which was good and my fiancé had the duck which was not so good. We asked one of the waitress to kindly bring us a jug of tap water which is free. The waitress nodded and went inside but didn't bring it to us. While we were eating we asked her again to bring us some water and this time she completely ignored us. To make the matter worse, the waitress then took out two jugs of tap water and served them to the table next to us. This was highly unacceptable and overly rude. This restaurant is ideally situated in the centre of the village just outside the tourist office, and serves reasonably good, reasonably-priced food.That's where the positives end. The service is extremely slow. In spite of the restaurant being almost empty when we arrived, there was a 30 minute wait for a menu after specifically asking for it. There was a wait of almost one hour for the bill, despite politely asking the waitress several times - politely, in French - and being ignored. The staff appear to be completely ambivalent to their customers, which is a real shame given that the location and food quality are both good.
We waited 20 minutes to even get a menu. Waitress walked by at least a dozen or more times in this time and did not even acknowledge we were sitting there. When we got menus it took another 15 minutes for her to take an order. We didn't even get water or the offer for a drink in this 35 minute period! And when she finally took the order, she brought one completely wrong meal and by the time she replaced mine, my husband was 90% finished. Waitress was rude and didn't seem to care about anyone she was serving. It wasn't just us it seemed. Others noticed it too.

My Partner & I were visiting Chateauneuf de Pape for the first time and stumbled upon this lovely little restaurant, just outside the tourist office. It had a lovely ambiance and seemed reasonably priced so we had a small starter each and a glass of wine. The service was good and the waitress was kind and overlooked our terrible french accents. The food was lovely and great value for money!
Partner & I had lunch here on a Tuesday. Great ambience sitting outside near the centre of Chateauneuf de Pape. This restaurant was the only real option for us traveling on a budget with the other restaurants in town quite expensive. Great value for money with prompt service!

this is one of the best bistrot in town where i had the privilege to taste the chateau de la nerthe famous wine. Love the atmosphere and the service. I will come back soon.

I love going to this place.Always open which is a good thing as most of the other places are closed on Mondays.Food is very tasty and well priced.Noisette is just perfect.
Reasonable prices, lovely setting. Service a bit slow but we thoroughly enjoyed a light lunch here. Would recommend!
