"We had the dinner menu at 27eu and a very nice local red wine for only 17eu. Food was delicious, wine excellent and the service was very friendly. It's quite out of the way in a sleepy little French hamlet, but well worth seeking out if you have a car."

We stumbled upon this place by accident and were thrilled to find a fixed price lunch that is both economic and tasty. It started with a creative take on tricolore salad (fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, rocket salad, pesto), then moved on to a faux filet with pepper sauce and sautéed potatoes, then any dessert one wants. The list was long: many, many ice cream and sorbet flavours and various homemade desserts (creme caramel, chocolate cake, etc.). The house wine was excellent. Apparently, the white comes from the Cave de Lumieres just down the road. (We later visited the winery which offers tastings). And our boys - 9 and 11 - ate most of their food, always a good sign and not often the case.

We came here last year for a charming but not special lunch but enjoyed it for the setting. So were were surprised to find that it is now a really top rate place for dinner. Okay, so with one server, we had quite a wait to put our orders in but they made sure we had our drinks and the time passed by quickly. The food was absolutely stunning - some of the best sea bass ever, cooked to perfection with finely judged flavours. Homemade ice creams - coffee and honey and lavender were delicious. Charming, good value, on a delightful terrace - what more could you want?
