The staff at the counter need to improve their customer service. Hopefully, the owner will take notice of this. Barbara, who works there, is very sweet, like cake. However, as a black woman, I must point out that not all black women are there to serve others. The staff at the counter should provide friendlier service, which may explain why the restaurant was completely empty when I visited on a beautiful Saturday afternoon around 4pm. I purchased 3-4 slices of French vanilla cake (which was delicious, by the way) and when one of them fell out of the glass display, I asked who did it, but the woman there simply shrugged and said nothing. Man, this place was a awesome. I got the ribs with Mac and Cheese as well as the corn. A delicious authentic meal. The ribs were so tender and flavorful, the Mac and cheese was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of cheese and the corn was no frills but I swear it was some of the best corn I’ve ever had.Also got the sweet potato pie and it followed suit with the rest of the meal. Extremely well made and tasty.You can tell they cook this food with Love. Easily, the best meal I’ve ever had in Beacon.
BJ's Soulful Restaurant has been a beloved and iconic establishment in the Mid-Hudson Valley for many years. Dining here is a truly delightful experience in a cozy atmosphere. My only critique would be to use less salt in their dishes. They definitely deserve six stars for their dedication to weathering economic challenges and keeping their doors open for their loyal customers. Thank you.
I literally just spent 10 dollars on 2 little ass pieces of fish. I have been to bjs plenty of times over the years and the last few times it has taken over 45 mins for an order of fish and they really do not have the help that they need. Bjs was a staple in the community but it's time to hang it up. Book a table now
Today I ordered BBQ ribs, collard greens and potato salad with corn bread. It was delicious and flavorful. The best soul food I’ve had in years. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is small, but very clean and orderly.
Soooo good. Had the fish chips, mac cheese, and banana pudding. I meant to save some for tomorrow, but ate it all! Definitely recommend if you want a delicious home-cooked meal.
This restaurant is fantastic, with delicious fish and chips. The chef, who is 82 years old, is still going strong. Plus, they offer free coffee.
