I've always wanted to try this place since it opened just haven't had the time until today, unfortunately I should've listened to the bad reviews. When I first entered I said hello and was not greeted but there was a friendly man on his way out that did say hello. I ordered the BBQ chicken, collard greens, yams, and a fish sandwich, the food wasn't very hot it was lukewarm. The chicken's was very dry like it was heated up and served, the greens I could definitely tell they were from out of the can 100%, and the yams weren't too bad. The fish on the fish sandwich did still have the tail and scales on it and wasn't seasoned at all. I really wish that my experience was better but unfortunately...
I ordered from them earlier today via DoorDash. The yams were undercooked, dry, and lacking sweetness. The macaroni cheese tasted artificial, as if it were from a boxed mix. The only decent item was the ribs, but even those were a bit tough. The cornbread was dry as well. The consistency of the food here is inconsistent; I’ve ordered from this place several times, and some days it can be decent while other days it's quite disappointing.

I ended up ordering the same thing the next day and adding mac ncheese. I would not recommend the mac n cheese (didn't get a pic) but, everything else was delicious again. Not too expensivealthough, everything is relatively expensive nowadays.

This restaurant is incredible! The flavors are exceptional, and the portions are quite generous. The oxtails, fried chicken, and cabbage were all outstanding. You'll never leave feeling disappointed—it's simply not possible. The hospitality is so warm that you'll find yourself wanting to return repeatedly. This soul food restaurant truly stands out on its own and has swiftly become my new favorite place.

Terrible experience! I ordered garlic wings but received undercooked wings with just chopped garlic on top. The mac and cheese was flavorless, consisting of plain noodles and melted cheese. Don't waste your money—avoid this place. I regret spending $40 here.

Went in at the end of their day. The Baked chicken was dry. The white rice is parboiled rice, bland. The green beans are from the can and pretty salty. The portion is pretty small for the size box they use.
The food is good. The fried fish and shrimp are my favorites. My husband loves the potato salad and mac and cheese. We've ordered to go twice and will continue to support this black-owned business.
