Black Star Pastry, makers of the internationally famed Strawberry Watermelon Cake have reopened in a central location in the CBD Galleries. Whilst their flagship store is in Newtown and they have a cafe style space in Rosebery and a store in St Kilda, Victoria, they’ve also been selling their sweet treats through a little spot in Kinokuniya bookshop in the Galleries. Since this was a small spot, only to be found by venturing up a few levels of the building, the move sees it in a larger space in a prime location on the ground floor of the Galleries (Pitt Street Entrance), enabling it to reach more foot traffic.
My friend said her watermelon cake is there bomb. Hmm .. in my opinion it was fine, as if I would not buy the cake again. But if someone gives me, yes .. okay. Grief
And the place is in the bookstore of Kinokuniya, so it's a very small place. Grief

Love the cakes here but it’s pretty pricey. The watermelon cake is refreshing and not overly sweet.
