Great lunch out at Blue Fish at Darling Harbour. We visited on a public holiday and were instantly advised of holiday surcharges which we did not mind at all. We were asked to pick our seats as it was still early and were attended to almost immediately. We decided on the Fisherman's Basket and the Chicken BLT with table water. The Fisherman's Basket was a variety of seafood (squid, calamari, prawns and fish) seasoned and deep fried. It was served with chips and aioli sauce. The calamari is always a highlight of this dish having the perfect crunch and for not being too stringy. The aioli went well with the seafood choice. The Chicken BLT was a burger with lettuce and tomato. Reading the me...

The ambience is pretty alright here. The food is average. Not amazing. Not worth it. I ordered paella, sangria and tortilla chips. Pricey but what can I expect being on the harbour. But I guess most people come for the scenery. The tortilla chips came with a terrible chip/guacamole ratio. We had 3/4 of the chips left by the time the guacamole was done and weren't exactly heaping our scoops. Maybe 2 tablespoons worth at most and the chips were nothing special for the exuberant price tag. The Sangria tasted like watered down goon with ice and quarter of an old apple. The paella was alright. Probably the best thing I had and it still wasn't anything special. I definitely felt ripped off with wh...
If only the family seafood platter came in a serving for one. I was drawn to it immediately as it features many of the exotic sea creatures I dream of. Capturing their flavour with tempering, searing and beautifully accented accompaniments, i opted for the cold seafood platter and it hit the spot perfectly! With a great view of the harbour al fresco, the experience was perfect as i washed it down with their "signature cocktail, the coconut Mojito". Wow - just wow! Book a table now
I love blue fish, I've been there for years. but the bathroom. oh the bathroom! They get worse and worse when we go. they need to clean them regularly on a Saturday night. I will not go into details because it is not pleasant, but please clean them more often. my friend refuses to even go into her, leads to bar next door. it is sad that I turn off to go into this restaurant a bit, I hope someone from the restaurant reads this review.
Visited for dinner - sat outside as adequate heating was provided. Blankets were also provided for each table, which were a nice touch. The food was pretty average - scallops were meh and the bucket of prawns ordered were pretty tasteless, the sauce served with them helped a lot. The service was overly attentive - we had a different person checking on us every 5 minutes. I didn't hate it but I wouldn't return.
this place is awesome! Im from inland Australia so anything by the water is epic for me and ive never had such fresh seafood like this before. The share platter is nothing like ive ever seen or had before where Im from and the view of the harbour while sipping on a glass of wine is something you cant imagine where Im from. Great service and definitely a must if youre visiting the area!
Great location, ordered seafood platter although food was dry, service was poor and management did not even acknowledge our feedback Book a table now
