I planned a large family Sunday lunch at this restaurant for a birthday celebration. First of all, the place gets very crowded and it is necessary to make a reservation if you want to dine on a Sunday. Secondly, the restaurant is popular because the food is delicious, freshly prepared and reasonably priced. Most of our group was too full for dessert, but the one person who did have dessert said it was very good. The carvery option is delicious and fresh, and they also cater to vegetarians with options like nut roast and vegetarian gravy. I ordered the fish special and it was fantastic. I will definitely return.
This beautiful old-world pub offers a fantastic Sunday lunch with a high-quality carvery that is simply amazing. The food is flawless, and the starters are incredible. The younger staff are friendly and welcoming, but there is one older woman with short, sharp gray hair who takes drink orders and could be a bit more pleasant. Her demeanor isn't the best, especially when you're spending a good amount of money. Nonetheless, the overall dining experience is enjoyable.
After reading many positive reviews, we decided to try Sunday dinner at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we left still feeling hungry. While £36 for two dinners, one Coke, and one wine seems like a good deal, the food was not edible. We barely made a dent in our plates, which I thought were overly cooked and unappetizing. The vegetables were soggy, the mash was gloopy, and the roast potatoes were disappointing. Overall, it was not a satisfying experience.
The service was a bit slow, but the server was clearly busy. When the food arrived, it was delicious and plentiful. I recommend leaving some room for dessert because it was fantastic!

The prawn cocktail was underwhelming, but the pork belly and gammon steak main courses were outstanding. I left feeling completely satisfied. I would definitely return.
