Please do not go there if you want a family nice dinner. We had the intention of having a nice 1st of the season family fondue, as every year in this nice traditional restaurant. I was there with my young daughter and had to listen ‘les habitués’ until we had to leave. 4 men completely drunk and loud. Couldn’t finish my dinner, of course, I was not having all this with my daughter or even as an adult. The excuse was, sorry , cr sont les habitués’… so if they are ready to stand this themselves, I asked them to warn their clients, mainly if there is a present child, they are supposed to stand for them (clients) all. Working in Geneva I couldn’t leave without enjoying a traditional Fondue. Restaurant Bon-Vin opened in 1900 and still has the air of an old style restaurant. I was made very welcome and my meal, dried meats followed by a traditional two cheese fondue was close...to exquisite. Should I be lucky enough to get a return trip to Geneva I will be coming back to restaurant Bon Vin, it is a real gem.
We were slightly apprehensive after reading the reviews about the rude waiter and comments about being ripped off for being English speaking however we had a really good experience. The staff were friendly and polite. The fondue was delicious we had the classic cheese one...and it comes with unlimited bread baskets. It was a touch expensive but so is everywhere else in Geneva.
This was easily the best fondue we had on a recent trip to Geneva. I would definitely recommend this place. The owner/waiter was very friendly and very helpful, the cheese fondue (we had with mushrooms) was easily the best we had in Geneva and the...chocolate fondue was delicious. Really very nice rustic meal. If you want great fondue then I really recommend this place!

This is small and cosy and central. The staff are helpful, do reserve. We had 3 types of fondues and wonderful green salad. Highly recommended had read they did not treat english speakers wll but we had no problem. Not cheap but classic and...good.
