Food was much better on my previous experiences with this restaurant. It used to be one of my favorite lunch locations when I worked nearby. Was disappointed with this visit, food wasn't as good, menu had changed, and waitstaff was slow. Busboy and manager were spot on though. I caught the managers eye to put our order in when we'd been sitting in an empty restaurant for over 10 minutes with no server in sight and he got the entire order in one table touch without writing anything down. Overall impression? Could have been better, could have been worse.
this excellent food compound discovered during the times between amtrak trains. it is very close to the railway station and worth the short walk. amazing eating in a cozy atmosphere. we ate on the veranda on the beautiful afternoon. the burgers are as delicious as the menu states (they use choice meat). while the fish and the chips were just really crispy outside and were in the inner fluffy. enjoy the city ambiente in the courtyard surrounded by green a beautiful break in the city!
this place has 4$ drink specialties every day and no one can beat these prices in the loop. their selection of food is also extensive. many profis from the loop come here on weekly basis, even people from my office and all love this place. the place is very clean, the staff is friendly and the service is fast. in the rule the people come here in large groups, and you can always find some space to sit a group of 10 people.
they have just closed this restaurant so that this review is inappropriate, but it was the evening before their closing date and the staff would have taken care of less. the waitress took our food order, we sat almost an hour, then we finally went to the kitchen to ask. the waitress has not even called our order to live. we went out, hungry and extremely disappointed. thanks for the memories blackies, go to a high note!

Old schoolish place with decent bar grub and a variety of drinks. Laid back casual atmosphere. One block from Union Station. Sort of hard to tell its there with the current construction on the building. (08/29/2022)

Three people for a burger lunch and app was $100. Burger is unmanageable to eat. Need a fork and knife. Too messy.
