when they were in partnership with the people at La Fayençoise (the other bakery! they got out when the going was good and set up by themselves and after some hard work it looks like they are beginning to shine. I buy my bread etc...here every day, I drive past at least five bakeries to do so! Attention to detail is paramount here when you arrive EVERYBODY (including the baker himself greets you with a cheerful Bonjour! And when you leave EVERYBODY wishes you a Bonne Journee or similar. Another detail, believe me there are lots, is that they never, repeat NEVER handle the bread with bare hands, hands that are handling the most microbe ridden thing in the world.....MONEY! .......previous reviews of this marvellous place; you walk in and you are greeted with a cheery Bonjour! from either or more often both the Boulanger and or his partner and an auvoir, bonne journee! when you leave. Now this ain 't rocket science, this line of...politesse makes you feel welcome, wanted, appreciated for the fact you came to spend money chez eux coupled with the fact that they produce the best bread and viennoisserie in the area, the coffee is good the sandwiches and the lunchtime deals are great value. Its no wonder there is nearly always a queue and that people come from all parts of the canton, as I do, to form a line come and join us but behind me!
We spent a week near Fayence this July. When we inquired about a local boulangerie we were told about a new one that had recently opened up. It turned out to exceed everyone's expectations. The croissants and pain au chocolat became our regular morning breakfasts...either at the boulangerie itself or brought home. The baguettes were present at every lunch and supper and often accompanied us on picnics. We had four different tarts for desert. We have been to France many times and each of s felt this boulangerie produced the best bread we have tasted. Everything was excellent. The service was exceptional. It deserves the highest rating. I cannot recommend it enough.
The perfect start to the day. I am first up, feeling like a proper Frenchman, for a couple of weeks with the right priorities in life, driving carefree through the beautiful countryside passing all the other bakeries, in the sun, to pick up my daily...4 baguettes, 4 croissants and 4 pain au chocolat. It's one of the few times I enjoy queueing and observing a master at his work. The smell, the atmosphere, the craftsmanship. Where else would you find it it represents the best of French culture. If you are holidaying in the Fayence area, this is the Boulangerie to go to, fabulous.

there is not too much to say except this my choice of boulangerie. large selection of different broths when they try to crack like a dark, maltyer laaf. the baguettes are not thin as rocking after a few hours, but shorter something...fatter that broth well when you are a reserve re is like fresh when slightly heated. croissant 's are made with butter are the best in the opposite service with a smile....YES! you may be happy that david the baker look over when he is not too busy they desire a cheerful bonjour
We spent a week in Fayence in July 2013. This newly opened bakery was recommended by a local. It became a regular walk to in the morning for their buttery croissants and petit pain au chocolat . Great selection of pastries. They have tables and you...can sit inside or outside if you want to stay and eat your goodies. All very new looking with state of the art ovens and display counters.
every day visited for 2 weeks there is a constant waiting queue that never lasts long as they produce the baker French baguette after baguette. simple parking space if you can't walk here. far better than the supermarket bakers.
We go there every year on hilly and I am please to drive for 10 minutes every morning to go and pick-u the bread from there. Made fresh all day long you always pick up a warm baguette and their pastries are really good.

recently disappointed by the quality of the brotes in la gourmandine (has it changed the hands again? we decided to find another boulanger. so far it is not disappointed. highly recommended!
