However, we noticed that half of the restaurant was closed for renovations, and although we inquired about it, we were not informed that there would be a limited menu during this time. Had we known that only about a quarter to a third of their usual offerings were available, we might have reconsidered our visit. Most importantly loved the vibe inside and a train actually came rolling through which was very cute. The server was a delight!!!!! I bought a $12 drink thinking oh boy, but it wasn’t just juice, it was really great and a value. The fries are the best I’ve had in years. Now to the burger. I ordered pink, I got well done. So I apologized to the waitress who did not shame me but said she understood entirely. The next burger was cut nearly in half with a pink that faded to brown in front of my eyes lol. We waited 48 minutes for an undercooked burger that I specifically asked to be "extra well done, with not a trace of pink," and it came out pink. We had to refill our own water while we waited, as the waitress never came by to check on us. We couldn't even try the food because we had to leave, and now I'm sitting outside, hoping it doesn't take another 48 minutes to get it right, while my family finishes their mediocre-looking burgers.
Food was spectacular, especially the Mozzarella half moon bread sticks for an appetizer. The service was short staffed that day so it was a bit slower, but the waitress was awesome. My wife and I went to Brakeman’s for our Anniversary because we had never been before, and we had such a good time! We got the bison burger and the depot burger, plus the cookies and cream milkshake, and everything was delicious! On top of that, service was friendly and fast, and the building itself is so cool.Definitely recommend Brakeman’s if you’re around downtown Colorado Springs!
While the burgers were decent, they didn't stand out as anything particularly remarkable. The service was quite inconsistent. We placed our drink and food orders together, but the drinks arrived about 10 minutes after we received our food, and we only got them after inquiring about their status. I'm not sure what has happened to Brakeman's, but our experience was disappointing.
A very cool hamburger joint next to the train tracks with a great view of pikes peak. I had the depot burger. It was probably the best burger I've had in the Springs. The french fries were delicious ? with the tasty dipping sauce. Definitely go check this place out. Book a table now
We had some friends visitingand checked it out, and all really enjoyed eating at Brakeman’s burgers. Burgers were well prepared and delicious. Loved the fries too! The salad was enough to share. Our server was very polite and prompt. We’ll be back.
