During our stay in Saas-Fee, I was lucky enough that my girlfriend took me to dinner at Brasserie 1809 for my birthday, inside The Capra Hotel. From the very first moment, the atmosphere felt warm, elegant, and genuinely welcoming…a place where you immediately feel at home. After being kindly greeted and offered the cloakroom, we were given the opportunity to choose our table. Selecting the dishes was truly a challenge, as every item on the menu sounded yummy. Each course turned out to be an explosion of flavors, marked by freshness, balance, and unexpected yet perfectly executed combinations. The chef’s remarkable work was evident and deeply appreciated. Beautiful hotel and restaurant with a very cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The food was generally decent, especially considering the pricing in Switzerland. Most dishes were enjoyable; however, the vegetarian main course was particularly underwhelming. On the other hand, the Lamb Duo stood out and is highly recommended. However, the service did not quite meet the level one would expect from a Michelin-starred establishment. Throughout the entire dinner, our water glasses were only filled once at the beginning. In addition, the dishes were not properly introduced, and we often had to ask in order to understand what was being served. That said, we were very pleased with the service at the cloakroo...
Très belle découverte à la Brasserie 1809. Nous y avons souper hier soir pendant notre séjour à The Capra. Le restaurant est très agréable, calme et chaleureux. L’espace est réparti en plusieurs pièces, ce qui est très appréciable : même s’il y a des groupes un peu plus animés, on peut être installé dans une salle plus tranquille et profiter pleinement du repas. La cuisine est excellente, avec des plats bien travaillés et des produits de qualité. La carte des vins est également très intéressante, avec un beau choix pour accompagner les plats. Un très bon restaurant à Saas-Fee, idéal pour passer une belle soirée dans une atmosphère détendue. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.
Wir sind um 21 uhr an einem Donnerstag Abend, Ende März an der Brasserie vorbeigelaufen und haben spontan einen Tisch bekommem. Das Essen ist kreativ und interessant, der Wein eher Durchschnitt. Der Service war ok. Wir haben zum Essen je 2 Glas Walliser Rotwein getrunken und waren sehr erstaunt, als wir auf der Rechnung gesehen habem: 1 glas 15fr., was teuer ist. Ich hätte erwartet, dass man uns das vorher sagt. Die Flasche kostet 30fr im Geschäft.

Amazing experience! The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was excellent, and everything was of great quality. You can really tell that care and attention go into every detail. I would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!
I had a wonderful restaurant experience. I’ve been to a few places in Switzerland and this has to be my favorite. I’ll be back!
