I just wasn’t satisfied with the Hotel itself. No spoon to stir my tea/coffee with (in the room) No initial towels (even though I asked for extra and they replied promptly) It’s a decent place once you arrive and looks nice but I ended up finding someone else’s underwear in my room. Had to call front desk for towels Shower head was taped down (was leaking from the sides). Very boring room, unappealing but the view was probably the best. The bed felt nice. Granted they are under renovation but you’d think they would take extra care of those staying there. Not just some £10 voucher. The worst is the keys. Really bad service. First I needed to leave by 7:15am on Sunday morning and nobody could accommodate for an early breakfast so I paid for breakfast but got nothing. Second, I came with my race bike which is spotless clean, cleaner than my shoes but it has to be left in the hall where the door is opened all night. I go to 4 and 5 stars hotels everywhere in the world and they are more than happy for my bike to be in the room but in a small 3* hotel in Lancaster, it is too posh and clean for a bike. Let's be honest, the hotel is extremely dated, walls are dirty and damaged, my towel was dirty, the floor is also dirty and the bathroom looks like it is from the 50's. I came to Lancaster and stayed at this beautiful historic hotel, just by the train station. The hotel is ideally located which suited my needs of going places, Uni was just a bus ride away and was walking distance from all the amenities which i loved. I stayed here for 1 night, the food was delicious and was of a high standard, the staff was really friendly and lovely. Upon arrival, i was greeted with a nice smile and was offered a room upgrade which came as a lovely surprise for me. Would definitely recommend this place to stay in Lancaster.
Not impressed at all. The hotel was being renovated so the floor I was on had paper half stripped off and plaster visible. My bedroom window frame had gaps around the edges and the bed was very uncomfortable. No air con either. Got a £10 voucher but that doesn't make up for an uncomfortable night's sleep. The only reason I haven't given 1 star is the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would not recommend, for the price I'm sure you could find somewhere much better.

Andrea was superb! I was cycling John O Groats to Lands End. She sorted my bike in a lock up, so friendly and welcoming. The Hotel is being renovated, so I was given a £10 voucher to spend in the bar. The entrance, reception, lobby, dining area are lovely, they're spending a lot of money. My room was great, clean, comfy and a Castle View. Breakfast excellent, staff excellent, Andrea....awesome! Thank you
We came to visit our grandson Alex and partner Alice who live in Lancaster. On arrival we were welcomed by the lovely blonde lady on reception, unfortunately didn't get her name. We had a lovely meal in the early evening with our 2 family guests. The room was good for us. Breakfasts were excellent with friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to everyone we were looked after on our stay.
Had a really nice stay here! Lass on reception found my booking no trouble on check-in. Explained about the vintage elevator and not to leave the doors open after getting out. I had a good night's sleep and checkout was painless. Place was clean and the shower was hot. The closest to a problem I had was when I was stood waiting for said vintage elevator and it was already there.
Great value for money. The room was very clean and adequately equipped. We had a lovely window view of the castle. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Special mention goes to the breakfast chef who prepared our veggie cooked breakfast this Sunday morning. It was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented!

Nicely situated (it's biggest asset), our bedroom was newly decorated but dark. Facing the busy road it was noisy at night. We didn't eat here at all so can't comment on the food. Amenities very standard but adequate. The old fashioned lift didn't always work!
The hotel is well located in the centre of town and close to the castle. It has recently been refurbished and was nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good. We would certainly stay here if we come back to Lancaster.
