Every year, during the Christmas market, we make the joy to taste their excellent sauerkraut! But this year, it is served on the plate, not even preheated! which makes that the pleasure is there .... at the beginning, because quickly the sauerkraut and the charcuterie cools and becomes hardly eatable with traces of frozen fat at the bottom of the plate! before it was served in cast coconuts that kept the heat well .... too heavy! hot plates. Too hot? flat heaters ... all broken tells us the server .... which specifies that we the alsatians that we eat our sauerkraut clearly we do not live in the same alsace! we were in this hotel, best western in colmar station and had planned to eat in the city on Saturday night, but everything was already booked so that we could arrange for a table and since we were guests they took our reservation for a late. dinner we had a beautiful chouc route that was enormous with a beautiful bottle of local wine. the service was excellent and attentive despite the busy evening. that was a beautiful surprise in front of our doorstep! highly recommended and do not forget to reserve it.
thanks to covid, most restaurants in colmar were either closed or fully booked so that we have to this restaurant near our hotel and right next to the railway station. it is very spacious in the interior that allows the distance between the guests. the personal wore all masks and they cleaned the tables before and after each customer. the food was abundant and very tasty, with a lot of weeping and French and Alsatian dressed. prices are medium, but in agreement with quality and portioning. a good dinner.
my wife and I went here after a recommendation of our hotel. I thought it was excellent generous and tasty courses that were washed by an excellent local pinot noir. the food was delicious, the service excellent (our waiter spoke English so my gcse. French was not necessary this time). it had a really nice, unavoidable ambiente of the art, which is so common in france, but so rare in england nowadays. highly recommended.
