OK, I'm a gizzard hound. True. The Brasserie l'Europe thinks I'm slightly daft for my enthusiasm for the salad. Don't care. It's delicious. And, it's huge. We split it, and were stuffed.The menu is short, but the beef filet is good and the fries will cause you to eye your companions to see if they are truly deserving of another one off of your plate.The other days, we went for the people watching, with wine OF COURSE. Shadowed by enormous planetrees, sitting and sipping wine or coffee, while watching the hikers go past is very entertaining.The waitstaff here are tried and true. They don't bustle; they've seen it all. Slow down. It's a lovely way to spend some downtime.
I just wanted a good salad for dinner and this simple restaurant served the bill well. The place isn't the most attractive, but it is nice to sit outside and watch life go by in the village. The food was OK and the service good. The menu is gaudy! Not the most romantic place on earth, but OK if you are hiking or cycling.
