We had a relaxing dinner in this small town just outside Landau. Beautiful setting with large outside patio but too chilly to eat outside. We were able to be seated without a reservation. Our waitress was very helpful since neither of us speak German and she translated for us. The food was very reasonably priced and well prepared. I had a papardelle pasta with shrimp and crab that was prepared in a cream sauce. Very tasty and not too rich. My husband had a plate of various meats - brat, veal, served with potatoes that was also good. Wine list had variety and gave us a chance to sample the region's offerings. Recommend this restaurant highly for a nice dinner in a beautiful area.
The menu has many pages but is short on good meat choices. Duck breast for starters was a small portion and overpriced at Good wine selection on whites, little on reds. Staff were very inflexible and constantly gave guests the feeling that they are...stressed and do not have time to discuss the menu.
The mixture makes it! situated in a halftimbered house, furnished with modern decor offering regional specialties, fresh seasonal cuisine and classic dishes served by young, affable staff with traditionalle hospitality dining at Brennofen's was a thoroughly enjoyable pleasure

We came here on a day trip from Karlsruhe on the sat in the beautiful garden and did the wine-tasting and had excellent flammkuchen and a beautiful selection of cheeses.I can but recommend this place.
