Called in here with my mum for lunch and they were a few dirty tables . The tables that were dirty should of been cleaned up ready for the next people to use that table. The floor was clean but a few tables weren't. The staff were okay as my mom and I were waiting for our lunch the staff were stood talking rather than cleaning up the tables. The food was okay but they should of asked if we wanted salad or chips to go with our toastie an panini rather than having nothing with it. What could of gone better is if the staff were not stood around talking and could be more foucused on cleaning up the tables that were dirty rather than leaving them . Unfortunately, this restaurant has declined in quality. As someone who visits only about 5 or 6 times a year, there is nothing compelling me to return. Despite its great location and outdoor seating, the service has deteriorated. If you try to order food after 2 pm, you will be met with disdain for expecting a meal at that time. It seems that the restaurant is prioritizing its staff over its customers, as I witnessed them preparing for future social events and packing up early when the business slowed down. I was offered a toasty, but it was forgotten and burnt due to other priorities. It's a shame that this restaurant has potential to be much better, as it can get busy at times.
The coffee from here this morning was delicious with great service at the till point, however, I asked for a receipt and didn’t get one so asked the member of staff clearing tables. I was duly informed it was, under no uncertain circumstances, my own fault and the manager wouldn’t be able to help. I asked to see said manager and she continued to tell me it was my own fault, to the point of arguing with me in a full coffee shop. I then had to go to the till and speak to the manager who printed the receipt with no issues. I let her know the member of staff was rude and her response was ‘I wasn’t there’. Never again
1. Ordered baked potato with chicken tikka. Observations. Dont know how they bake potatoes as there was hardly any potato inside the skin. Over cooked , certainly !!! Ordered Caffe Frappe. Observations. Did not detect any coffee in the glass. If they want to do it Italian style then for god sake put coffee in it so customers can taste it. I had to order an extra shot of coffee and they charged me for it. To the Owner.....Get a grip.....if you cant make Caffe Frappe properly then dont make it at all. Very poor.

Been here a few times not keen as tables are always full of pots No staff around to empty them I always have to ask, bacon buns not great totally tasteless, tables are wiped with a cloth which leaves the table smelly( should use paper rolls and then bin them) floor is always dirty and foods bits needs sweeping when customer leaves. Coffee is ok. Staff are nice enough but need more to keep place clean. Toilet is not very clean staff probably don't have time to clean them as well as everything else.
We called in here for breakfast one early morning and ordered some coffees and some breakfast buns. Coffees were fine, however the breakfast was not! I had a sausage bun and my husband had a bacon bun, neither of which had any butter on them and therefore were very dry! Upon opening the bacon sandwich, there was one small slice of bacon and a half slice, both of which had clearly been warmed up as they were rock hard! If you’re wanting breakfast in Thornaby, go to Subway, Greggs or Asda!!
If you are a lover of scones then this is a must to visit. Sweet or savoury they have a great choice. Cappuccino comes in three different sizes so whether you want a small cup or prefer a large cup it’s great to have the choice. As it is always busy you can sometimes struggle to get a table.

I used to frequent the brewhouse often, but I won't be going back after being seated near a family with a foul-smelling dog. I'm sorry, but I don't find it pleasant to be around a smelly dog while eating.
