"Lovely old fashioned, quirky, very quiet little pub run by people who have obviously been doing it for some time. The food was amazing, I had salmon which I couldn't fault and my partner had fish and chips which they are renowned for... really enjoyed it."

we always hesitate when we eat on the way. this pub is a jewel. Top destination in folkestone for good eating and local friendly atmosphere. we almost went away when we said they were full. After a 2 minute talk we finally sit close to the bar next to a local who had eaten. we were welcome and were immediately transferred to a really friendly atmosphere. the renter and the waiter are really nice and defenetly helpful. you have ale 'the forty nine ', if I remember well was one of the best I ever had. the frying were excellent (nut roast mix beef/poor), brilliant sweet selection and a unique crispy yorkshire pudding. and at the end the black cherry went very well with a grand marnier. we love...

what a wonderful fund, we were recommended to try the British lions from the renter of the gastes house that we were in the sunny lodge. we arrived just as the pub opened and were totally beaten. the pub is the oldest in folkestone 1460 and was often visited by charles thickens who lived in folkestone. we ordered our meal times and have simply dissolved the atmosphere. both meals were by far the best pub dishes we've ever eaten. we enjoyed a bottle of red house wine that was also perfect. the renter is a nice person and you man has cooked our meals. we had a fantastic evening and would recommend the briten lion to everyone while visiting folkestone.

Oldest pub in Folkestone, gets busy at the weekend. Cosy in winter after a walk around the old town. See the corner where Dickens used to drink and the spot Beckett celebrated his secret wedding. Food what you’d expect from a pub like this hot and tasty but not a Michelin experience.

is time eating here and it was as good as it gets, nice atmosphere when the staff entering are very friendly and welcoming eating came hot, they need to call after 10 o'clock to a table a few days before I would recommend a try, it is a really nice pub to go for a meal and a pint
