I haven't been here since COVID started and since the takeover of new owners. This is an older, casual restaurant with stands and tables for seating. It's not a traditional dinner yet, it's not fantastic. The general atmosphere and lighting is warm and casual. Our hostess was nice. We didn't have to wait until we were sitting. Our server was personal, knowledgeable about the various specials (which are also listed when you come) and gave us the right amount of attention. We went to breakfast. I wanted to eat with my 10-month and husband 3/3/22 today. I was very impressed by staff, food, cleanliness, portions and prices!!! Our waitress was an expected mother and she was absolutely amazing! She recommended her lunch special, that was a Mac and cheese baconburger with frits and a soup/salad. I have the chili as my soup. The whole meal was fantastic and there was so much I couldn't finish it: there was also a wide selection of dishes on the menu that don't have all diners! 100% will be visited again.
The service was very fast. They were attentive to our coffee cups and breakfast came fast. The French toast was excellent and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Mugs were your generic little ones with questionable cleanliness. The creamers could have been provided more generously. Overall, very positive experience. I was there 3 times and they consistently delivered great food, fast, at a good price.
Was looking forward to their reopening! My mom and I are from the city and make it a tradition to diner hop all around the Southern tier and other Central and Upstate diners to find the best ones. We visit the Vestal Diner most frequently <3 Waitstaff there is also always lovely.
