I recently revisited Brown Chicken Brown Cow after my initial visit in 2014, at the recommendation of a friend. We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and found the restaurant to be empty when we arrived before 1:00. I was able to customize my order by swapping the chicken in my Chicken Mushroom Swiss sandwich for a hamburger patty. We also ordered a Tomato Pesto Grilled Cheese, BBQ chicken wings, and truffle fries to share. Unfortunately, the fries were disappointing as they were not crispy, lacked truffle flavor, and were topped with chunky grated cheese. The wings were overly saucy and lacked a crispy texture. I've been meaning to come to this tucked away burger joint for a while now and today was the day to try this place out! I had the fondue burger and my wife had a regular BCBC burger and added goats cheese. We also shared fries (which was the perfect amount for us). The burgers here have a twist to them and the fondue burger was cut in half and submerged in beer cheese. It was good, I got the beer taste but needed to be a little more cheesy IMHO. My wife also enjoyed her burger and I'm pretty sure we'd come back. If you're in Campbell downtown this is probably the best place to find a non-chain burger and I definitely recommend it!
Finally remembered to try this place for lunch. I was looking forward to a good chicken sandwich. The place was empty on a Friday so it was super fast to place our food order. And we got a nice table outside. The food came fast! Hubby's John Wayne burger without cheese was good. And the fries were good. But my grilled chicken sandwich was awful. Dry pieces of chicken and the two slices of avocados fell right out of my sandwich. Although there was a mention of mayo on the menu my sandwich had no sign of it. I could only eat half...I believe I ordered the Chicken Club. If you go there order a burger.
I love how hidden this restaurant is! The small patio in the back is charming and private. The burger was decent, but not the best I've ever had. I ordered something called an "angry goat," which was loaded with generous amounts of goat cheese. There seemed to be more goat cheese than beef in the burger. I would probably choose this spot over other burger places in the south bay simply for the atmosphere. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a burger, fries, and a beer.
