"The Tamarind Prawns were overcooked and a bit chewy, and the Corn Fritters were overly greasy. I ordered them based on a recommendation. However, everything else was delicious, so I will definitely order from here again—just not the Tamarind Prawns."

I am quite passionate about Thai food since much of it is delicious. However, since much of their food is on the spicier side, I tend not to eat a lot of it. Which takes me to the city of Albany where I had the opportunity in trying out Bua Luang . Located in the heart of downtown Albany directly on Solano Ave and just a couple blocks east of San Pablo Ave, this place has been dishing out delicious South Asian Thai food dating way back to 1990. Which means locals and residents of surrounding areas have eaten here at least one time or another. As far as their menu goes, this place is fairly standard with a wide variety of Thai offerings. This includes noodles, curry dishes, seafood specialtie...

I have passed by this restaurant numerous times without stopping, but a few weeks ago, I finally decided to try it after a flight since it was the only place open at 9:30 PM. The food was fantastic! I had the pumpkin curry, and it was so delicious that I’ve returned four times since. Everything has been consistently tasty! The coconut pad thai, fried dumplings, and yellow curry were all excellent. The restaurant is quite busy with takeout orders and delivery drivers, but there’s also a nice atmosphere for dining in. The prices are reasonable, the service is very good, and the food is outstanding!

Best bang for the buck is the lunch combo. Ordered the cashew chicken tom yum soup. Food is flavorful, fresh no skimping on the ingredients. The menu is quite extensive service was attentive. Was a bit skeptical about the green tea since the description had watermelon rose in it, but surprisingly, it was the right flavor combo without any specific one overpowering it; multiple refills were enjoyed.

My friends and I visited this restaurant on the afternoon of Solano Stroll, and they almost turned us away because we weren’t aware they were closing early for the event. Fortunately, they allowed us in! We enjoyed a delicious meal of pumpkin curry, shrimp pad thai, and tofu satay. It was wonderful to catch up with old friends. This place is just as amazing as we remembered! Book a table now

Ended up at Bua Luang by chance because the Ethiopian restaurant up the street was not open. It was a nice surprise. Food was excellent (had the pork panang, extra spicy and service was prompt and professional. We ate inside but there is a nice, covered outside eating area if you are looking for that. I would definitely eat here again!

I took a friend here for her birthday. The meal was pretty good, but the service was subpar. I would not go here again. There are better places with more flavorful food, and friendlier more attentive service: such as Anchalee in Berkeley or Nua in Oakland. Service: Dine in Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Bua Luang Thai Cuisine is my favorite spot for Thai food, whether I’m eating in or getting takeout! They use fresh, non-fried tofu, and many of their dishes are gluten-free, which is great. Everything tastes amazing! I especially love the fresh rolls, pumpkin curry, and any of their noodle dishes.

Our favorite Thai restaurant ever. They now served Kao Mun Gai (chicken and rice) Thai style. Tasty and good price. We also had Tamarind Prawn. It's crispy jumbo prawns topped with tamarind sauce and grilled asparagus. Yummm. Best food, service and vibes. Love this place!!! Recommended!!! Book a table now

Bua Luang Thai Cuisine is our favorite local spot! Their menu includes excellent vegan choices, and you can always call ahead to ask about ingredients and possible modifications. Every dish tastes fresh, perfectly balanced without too much garlic or sweetness.
