After reading other reviews and hearing about the invention of the double decker pizza at this place, we had to give it a try. The pizza was delicious and we really enjoyed the flavors. However, the cashier (wearing glasses) who took our order seemed to be having a bad day or was simply disinterested. There was no greeting or welcoming attitude, and their responses to our questions were short and not very helpful.
I used to work at this restaurant 25 years ago, and back then it had the best pizza in town. Even to this day, it still holds that title. I don't think they have changed the sauce recipe at all in all these years. The double decker pizza has always been the star of the menu, and if you haven't tried it yet, you're definitely missing out.
While living in Highwood, I always made sure to visit Buffo's for a meal in a welcoming atmosphere. The food at Buffo's is absolutely delicious, with traditional family recipes passed down through generations. I hope that Lenny continues to keep the restaurant thriving.
Great service, nice selection on the menu and the food always meets expectations. The interior holds many historical relics of Highwood and Highland Park. The outdoor seating is always a plus. Book a table now
I love Buffos pizza! I stopped in tonight and they had spaghetti and meatball pizza on special. It was sooo amazing. Just when I thought their pizza couldn't get any better...
I like the little guy that works there. It's fun to watch him make tiny issues into a huge dilemma. The food is great too.
