So far they make best cold meat rolls in Victoria, at least I thought so. The rolls are tasty, fresh and crispy. But only for cold meat rolls. I tried their hot meat rolls and not as good as their cold rolls. The pork they use is normal pork, if use female young pork will much tasty. but still cold meat is 5 out of 5. It is very interesting to see that the police station is their big buyer. Every lunch you will see police officers carry 5 or 10 or even more walk out of the bakery. I said officers not officer. How often I go there? may be twice a week but not enough.
With the cost of living rising and rising, it's nice to find a place where you can get a delicious and filling meal for less than five dollars. I have tried both the BBQ pork and the lemon grass chicken bahn mi's and while the bread is not the flakiest that I've ever tasted, you can't fault the fillings at all. The BBQ pork is so tender, and just the right amount of salty and sweet, and you can really taste the lemongrass in the chicken. They add a decent amount of filling inside as well. I will definitely be back to try all the other fillings.
Saw what I thought were red bean paste sesame balls. Turns out they were yellow bean paste. Never heard of yellow bean. Much nicer flavour. But the best snack is the banana fritters(don't know the correct name, but that's what they were), sort of a cross between a deep fried banana and banana cue from the Philippines. Very nice and not too sweet (something I find with the Filipino dessert). I took the lady who served me at her word and ate them whilst they were hot. Really good. Very crunchy and great flavour.
Set amongst the busy strip of shops near Springvale station is Bun Bun. I have been here several times when in the area for lunch and for around $12 I can buy two of their delicious Vietnamese Pork rolls with the lot and a bottle of coke to share with my hubbie. Everything is made to order and super fresh and even though the shop gets really busy, there are normally plenty of staff behind the counter and things move through very quickly. These are a MUST TRY!! Book a table now
This is an outlet that sell bahn mi (Vietnamese rolls stuffed with varieties of meats). It's most populer and best selling item is roast pork roll. Bread roll stuffed with roast pork, topped with pickled carrot and radish, cucumber, spring onion, coriander, chilli and BBQ sauce. Really yummy
The Vietnamese rolls are just awesome - fresh, tasty and just delicious plus you can even get them in wholemeal. It seems to be a favourite spot for the Police as there are always a few officers lined up here waiting for their lunch. A visit in Springvale has to end at Bunbun.
I only go there for the Rolls they are excellent!... staff are helpful and nice..and very affordable prices....Worth a look... i always go there just for the rolls....
Great BBQ pork rolls, although the lemongrass chicken rolls come a close second. The staff are very friendly and I would really recommend you try Bon Bon Bakery Book a table now
Nice variety of lunch selections. Fast service and reasonable prices. Unfortunately no eating areas either inside or outdoors.
