My friends and I hit this pub every Tuesday evening. The prices are very reasonable for a sit down dinner (ie 8.95 for the gammon steak and eggs with chips (fries to the Americans), 7.95 for fish and chips, no tip expected). On the other hand, once in awhile they will run out of things, like certain types of pastas, and will ask you to substitute on the fly. The burgers must be cooked well done, because they are stored frozen at the pub. Sometimes, the kitchen can be slow, owing perhaps to a more than expected number of guests. On the plus side, they put up a huge projector to play champions league games and it is never too busy to enjoy the games there. Beer selection and prices are good. T...

This place does everything well enough without exceeding any expectations. We booked a table at the Burleigh for lunch on Sunday. First impressions were mixed as our table was nice but it took 10-15 minutes to get drinks at the bar (think they were understaffed). We ordered lunch and despite the staff being flat out they got our order 100% right and got our food out in 15-20 minutes. The nachos were surprisingly good for £4.95. The mains were all acceptable, and to be fair, exactly what you should expect when they all cost under £8 each. My scampi and chips were well cooked and the burger and chips looked decent, as did the Cajun chicken. The range of beers was pretty standard, with a few ni...

I would call it just an ordinary pub. Personally I didnt find there anything special. Typical pub food, beer, ecc. Portions seemed quite big to me, but in general I would say that most of people ate most of their foods, so I guess, to the majority it is a right portion size. The time I went there, was quite busy. I suppose, it is good place for pub lovers and those who like reasonably cheap beer. However, I wasn't impressed too much, as I normally choose a bit different environment. So, I would say to those who look for something more special-you got to look further.

I think the Landlord has changed recently because this pub is a real tardis. The interior is brand new and tasteful, it's clean and tidy and the service is very helpful and friendly. They have a good selection of ales and bitters at the bar and the food is excellent! We spent a very nice evening there and got more bang for the bucks than in many other pubs.
