"Fortunately we had booked a table in advance as the restaurant was packed on our arrival. Service was prompt and professional. Our mains of sea bass £22) and haggis stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon £19.95) were beautifully cooked ad presented. The sticky toffee pudding £8.50) to finish was swimming in toffee sauce and simply delicious."

One of the best meals I've had in last ten years. We wanted to eat on a Wednesday in October and it was fully booked !, managed to make a reservation for the Friday but for 18.15 that wasn't ideal for us but we decided to go for it. We were first customers in the restaurant which is beautiful, so impressed with how the tables are dressed and beautiful flowers. Shortly after we had many guests around us the atmosphere came alive. The staff were top notch , great food and wine. Couldn't recommend it high enough, we will go out of our way to go back again .

One of the best meals we have enjoyed this year. We were early and the only couple in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was tasty, cooked to perfection, good quality and served at the right temperature. Restaurant had a good atmosphere with crisp white table cloths and napkins. Great experience and will return the next time we are in Melrose. Only downside was the cooler temperature in the restaurant. Good value for money, great ingredients and cooked to perfection.

We 've been calling in here for coffee for some years now. We originally were recommended to come here by a friend who knew of it from many years ago. As another reviewer said its got an 'old school ambience ' family owned, dependable and unceasingly good. So we stopped for lunch it was a Monday and most of the tables in the bar were taken always a good sign. Our menu choices were spot on, especially the kedgeree. Must do dinner some time.....

A classy, old-school restaurant in the heart of Melrose. We ate here twice out of three nights in the area. Excellent food, good wine, friendly folks. And the bartender turned me on to a whisky I’d never tried: Ledaig 12-year Discovery, from ex-bourbon and sherry casks. The clientele leans a bit older, yet the vibes are good. Nice little room out front to sip your after-dinner drink.
