While not especially shiny, this place is real and feels like home. I had pleasant conversations with numerous other customers and was served by a waitress who has been there about a decade. While I wouldn't recommend visiting if you're in a hurry, thisplace is great if you want to feel like a local and eat well without overpaying. The food is delicious and super well priced,with daily specials (I got Wednesday's chicken noodle soup) and fresh tasting OJ, as well as Boston's version of a milkshake(which includes ice cream) the frappe (pronounced frap, I believe, unlike the coffeeshop drink). And because the food was soreasonably priced, it was easy to leave a generous tip! I'll hope to come...
This is in awesome little old school diner that feels completely out of place in the area, but thats what I like the most about it. It is very retro on the inside and the people working here are very nice. They carry all the standard diner options, but my favorite thing here are the muffins, they ask you if you want them grilled and my answer is always yes. Im not sure how grilled they are as they taste almost deep fried...but that really brings a blueberry to the next level. The pricing is right for this sort of food and a good deal in brookline.

My husband and I are from Georgia but let me tell you they had the best breakfast ever. It just about took me back in time to when my grandmother done her thing in the kitchen. I would give them 100% satisfaction on my part because their food was thebomb!! I think everyone should give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic food, I got two eggs, rye toast, potatoes, and a muffin. The eggs were over easy and absolutely perfect. Everything else was delicious and the muffin was grilled and moist. On top of this, the staff was funny and pleasant. Will definitely come back again!
Was riding the C Green Line saw this place out the window. Came back for lunch. GLAD I did! Monday was 'meatloaf day '. Excellent food, friendly staff I shall return. Douglas McArthur (actually he was not with me and I did ask forextra gravy.
It was wonderful to dine outdoors at socially distanced tables in October, enjoying the vibrant fall foliage. The staff was efficient and friendly, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced.
