"The setting for this restaurant is the courtyard of an ancient medieval house- one of the many in Domme. The waiter was very welcoming of us and our son and took the time to explain the menu and make sure we understood what was on offer, given our rusty French! The food was excellent and came with an assortment of roasted vegetables. Great selection of wines and the desserts were delicious."

Despite a warning from a local that this spot was hit or miss, we dined here out of nostalgia, having had a lovely dinner here about 15 years ago. The experience this time was completely different. There were a few issues I could mention, but I will focus on just a couple: We were sat in the very hot far back corner of the second floor with my children during a heatwave. It took approx. 2 hours for the mains to arrive—which may have been tolerable if anyone had stopped to check on us to offer some water. Meanwhile other tables were served before us. At one point there was over an hour without anyone even passing by our table. Eventually we got up to go to the bathroom and found a nice server...

Four of us ate here during our stay in beautiful Domme. Eating here was an experience and whilst we’re glad we came, we wouldn’t go back. At the start of the evening the staff explain the menu in French, afterwards they are open to questions in English. We luckily had a french speaking friend with us. Several items of the menu had run out by the time we could order. Two of us ordered foie gras, and two ordered the seasonal salad as starters. They were all delicious. For mains, three of us ordered the beef this dish was a total let down; dry, full of fat and gristle resulting in scenes of endless chewing wishing we had a dog under the table. We were all jealous of our friend who had ordered t...

My wife and I returned here, five years after our previous trip. It’s much more popular now, the outside courtyard area was almost full. Good warm welcome and our waiter explained the simple three different price points of menu with two or three choices for each course, on each. We opted for the middle price menu, €30 for 2 courses, €36 for three. My Chef’s pâté starter was a bit dull although the good warm bread saved it. The Magret de Canard was fine as was the fruit crumble. Two glasses of wine at around €5 each were good. Total bill €82 for two. Service was friendly and efficient.

We have been coming back to this restaurant every year since the owners of 1 Logis à Domme recommended it. The Chef is fabulous, as are the lovely friendly waiters. It’s busy so there is some waiting time but everything is cooked to order so that’s only to be expected. If you want a quick meal then this isn’t the place for you. However, if you want to enjoy a delicious meal in a convivial atmosphere then don’t hesitate! Thank you
