I made a reservation for an early dinner this evening to celebrate my daughter's 20th birthday. She had never been to Cafe Central, but she had heard me talk about it several times. We were seated promptly and served our water and tea. We decided on two appetizers: the Grilled Portobello Mushroom and the Grilled Fried Calamari. Both were excellent and the spicy sauce on the calamari was great. For dinner, my daughter ordered the Maple Leaf Duck Breast and I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. The food was delicious and customer service was excellent. We had booked their patio area for a graduation brunch that started around 12:30. We expected the graduation that started at 10 to end close to noon however it only ended up being an hour or so long. Long story short, Cafe Central with no hesitation took our party in early and accommodated us. We had a pre-selected a menu too and they still accommodated a few vegan/vegetarian guests without complaint. We really left happy as to how our party turned out and definitely recommend it here for dinner or a party. This was our first time at the restaurant and will definitely be returning. Especially for their green chile soup--amazing!
Our party had a wonderful experience start to finish! Levi at the bar made some mean cocktails and made excellent wine recommendations. Cesar was our server, and took such good care of us, paying us the detailed level of attention one expects at an establishment of this caliber. The sommelier, Charles, was charming, generously sharing his knowledge and enhancing our overall experience. Our food choices, including the seafood tower, cream of green chile soup, steak and fish entrees, were perfectly prepared as were all the sides. Our 4 hour experience at Cafe Central was impeccable, and when I return to El Paso, I will be back! Thank you!
