Cafe de la Basilique

Having been told "pas de place" rudely in a creperie situated close by we found this dining outlet closer to the Basilica. We were warmly greeted and given a table. The service was prompt in spite if the fact the restaurant appeared to be very busy with only one waiter and one waitress. My wife had the melon for entrée, pork for main and chocolate mousse for dessert. I had the duck filet for main followed by ice cream. Both main dishes cooked extremely well and a good portion size. Good value for money and it has a homely feel to the place. Clearly popular with those visiting the Basilica and ideally situated.

Although the website states that the restaurant is open from 0900-2200, the host refused to serve food when we arrived at 1435 because apparently the kitchen closes at 1430. It is important to make sure the opening times are correct, specially for tourists that don’t know the details.

warm welcome, decoration and good cuisine. the dishes are well seasoned and the wine is pleasant. children also liked their menu. the place is also quite spacious dc well in these covid times. I recommend!
