Our band Ransak were performing at a St.Patricks day concert in Hoymille near Bergues and we had all met up at Cafe De la Poste where we were made so very welcome. The next day (Sunday) after our gig we went back to the cafe for breakfast and the food was excellent. What also pleased us was that our cd was being played as background music. Very nice people, we will return.
A very interesting experience. Went to visit the city and found a music festival underway only the Cafe chap was hilariously nonchalant about it saying it was running late, and not orgnaised well at all! The drinks were good and outdoor space looks out to square. We watched a rock band. The drinks were no expensive. We didn't try the food
On our way back to Calais from a weekend in Veurnes we wanted a light lunch and stopped at this very pretty walled village of Bergues. Found this cafe on main square with tables outside in the sun. Just what we wanted...delicious Ch'ti beer and a lovely quiche with salad. A very pleasant way to spend a Sunday lunchtime!
Maybe was my French, but the server wasn't the friendliest person I've met. Wrote the order, then he brought whatever he thought it was good for us. I told him that the coffee was with milk, then he gave me just one small plastic container of milk... Dunno, probably a bad day for him. The surroundings are cool though. Book a table now
We had an excellent Cappuccino in the covered street terrace overlooking the square and town hall. One of the best I have had in France and not expensive too. Typical Northern France atmosphere of normal people passing the day with a short coffee/drinks break late...More
A basic bar serving drinks both inside and on a terrace. Staff are very friendly despite not speakingor understanding much english. Not all drinks available Inc Bacardi but good for beer
Great place in the middle of Bergues. A small cafe/bar. They serve excellent coffee and do have an excellent service, too. Highly recommended if you are passing by.

Called in for a quick coffee. It's a typical French bar/cafe used by the locals so ideal if you want to avoid tourist France .
