After a great meal at the next-door Les 2 Terrasses, we asked the manager there for a recommendation for the next day, and he suggested this restaurant. If we had not been to Les 2 Terrasses, we probably would have had a better impression of Cafe de Nice. But it suffered by comparison. I had the 3 course menu for 25 euros. I started with a salad Nicoise, and asked if the tuna was fresh (which it was at Les 2 Terrasses). He said it was. But it sure seemed like canned tuna. I then had a dish of three grilled fish. Again, not as good as the night before. The dessert was an ice cream sundae. On the other hand, my companion did better. Her main course was mussels in a tomato sauce. Very generous...
We went here our first day in Nice as we arrived in the evening and it was close to our hotel. Compared to the other restaurants close by it seemed to be the nicest. The outdoor seating was nice and the service good, but the food was of variable quality. We started off with a beef carpaccio and a foie gras. The beef carpaccio it self was tasteless, but the parmasan cheese were good. The foie gras was the best dish and of good quality. Our main courses were mixed fish and duck. The fish were not too fresh, overcooked and with bones. The duck were dry, however the gravy were good! All in all, there is so many better restaurants to visit than this one.
This was the third restaurant we stopped in last evening. It was a very chilly night and the other two were partially heated (open to the ambient air) both inside and on the patio. This restaurant was totally enclosed and was heated, which was perfect for my wife. We each ordered from the main menu and did not use their Formulas. My wife had onion soup and I had fish soup. Both were very nice. She then had a combination fish dinner and I had their magret. Portions were way too big, but very tasty. Prices were competitive. If we lived in the area we would visit this restaurant frequently.
Every time we ate here, we had terrific service, terrify food, and an all round great experience.The street hostess is a credit to the restaurant, friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the evenings menu. In addition, the wait staff were also very professional and friendly.Food was really excellent, beautifully presented, well cooked, with generous tasty portions.This soon became our restaurant of choice in Nice, and we ate here several times during our stay.Not cheap, but worth the splurge for great food and a nice evening.

Whenever we walk by this appealing sidewalk cafe, it is always busy. We finally caught it on a windy when there wasn't quite so many people. Great lunch. I had the special filet with pepper sauce, twice-cooked potatoes, sautéed veggies and a salad. My partner had a mixte salad (mammoth) that was full of fresh ingredients. Two on-tap Stella's, a basket of baguette and we were styling. Bill was 30€. Not bad! Nice ambience.
Le Café de Nice has a full menu of well prepared dishes. Beautiful salads, pastas and meats adorn this menu. I really loved the cod Nicoise which was colorful in appearance and vivid in flavor. We have been here many times and the dishes are always good. You can’t go wrong, but definitely try the daily tiramisu, which offers flavors like apricot and peach.
Ate in this restaurant a couple of times. The service was very smooth and professional and the food was good. Not the cheapest, but the quality was reflected in the food. I enjoyed the fish with the family enjoying both the steak and the duck. The desserts were lovely - but be careful when they flambe the apple dessert!
I had onion soup but when it arrived it was not hot. Asked them to reheat while my family had their lunch. Waited more than 15 minutes for my reheated soup. No apologies and no one asked if the food was ok. The food was good but it doesn't matter when the service is poor.

Lots of food choices, ordered the sunday menu - starter, main course and dessert for 25 euros - priceworthy! Serviceminded staff, would definitely go back!
Nice place in center but not on overcrowded main street. Excellent live music. Friendly stuff. There are children's menu.
