"Only stopped for a beer and a 'coup de champagne' whilst it was raining. Pleasant atmosphere, good value at under €10, but all a bit clinical, needs some atmosphere."

We asked for a table in French, but the waiter was keen to practice his English so detecting our accent he asked us to speak in English. This was a mistake. French customers arrived, were served food, and left. We waited. We politely asked, in French, in English, in despair, where our food was. We explained we had to get to Calais, and having allowed two hours for a stop thought we'd have plenty of time for a meal. When the food finally arrived, with no apology, the salad had clearly been ready and left at room temperature for the hour we'd been waiting. The steak tartare didn't need cooking, and the third dish was the plat du jour, so nothing should have taken than long. A very disappointin...

Limited board menu which suggests it changes frequently, usually a good sign. 20 mins after being seated they took our order, others had come in after us and been served! Ordered steaks and a goats cheese salad. The order arrived very quickly. However they muddled up the bien qui and À Point but I'd already eaten half of the well done (thinking this isn't very good) before my son complained that his was redder than expected. The steak were served with frites and no veg. The salad on the other hand was enormous. Had to go to the bar to ask for bill as service was less than attentive.

We visited at lunch time and had the set lunch menu of the day. A very good salad with lardons and goats cheese to start followed by half a baby chicken with dauphinoise potato and veg then chocolate pudding to finish. All very well presented, tasty and filling at a very reasonable price. There is only one set menu ,no choices, but there is a la carte if you want, galettes seemed to be the next popular choice. We were served promptly and politely by a team of young waitresses and would definitely visit again.

Whilst waiting for a friend we decided to grab a coffee here. After he joined us we were finishing our (very small) coffees when the lady told us we would have to leave if he didn't order anything. The place was literally empty so we weren't in the way. Utterly useless customer service, limited range of coffees and the lady is rude
