This 'cafe' was next door to my hotel and, following TripAdisor ratings, I went to it, quite late after my flight. The welcome was warm and the menu terrific. I had foie gras, following by morels (mushrooms) cooked with basil and cream, then a splendid rhubarb and strawberry compote with meringues. The service was excellent. Good wine by the glass and all reasonably priced, especially for Geneva! I was taken to the same restaurant the next night by my Genevan host and again had superb food- quail terrine following by an oriental prawn and squid dish. All delicately flavoured and perfectly cooked.
It happened that this restaurant was just next to the hotel i was staying at and i tried it because it was heavily raining and didn't want to go further in town. Surprisingly the menu was rich with daily suggestions from the chef. Apparently you need a prior reservation but as we were only 2 persons and it was still early (7 pm) they allowed us to have a table. Dinner was great yet both salads we ordered were not up to our expectations. Service was good and friendly.
The place was amazing and the food was delicious as usual, we had just a couple of problems, one of us was gluten intolerant and the waiter forgot to remove the bread in the main course, then beside us there was a table where two vmchain smokers smoked until they left. Probably, next time I will ask for a table inside.
Back again after a year and this place is as terrific as ever. It is a cafe, not a grand restaurant, but the food is local, seasonal, imaginative and beautifully cooked. I had chanterelles in a broth, followed by stuffed quail and a strawberry 'soup' at a post-conference dinner. Book a table now
Food was excellent. I had riz de veau which was cooked in a tasty sauce with morel mushrooms. Service was the best I have ever seen in Geneva. The place is relatively quiet and decor is pleasant. You can't go wrong here.
