Went here Wed 8/6/16.Got there just after nine in the evening.After about ten to fifteen minutes,the admittedly busy waitress took our drinks order,and whilst doing so saw my wife looking at the menu.After about another ten to fifteen minutes of trying to get her attention to order a meal,she finally approached and when 3 to 4 metres from our table asked loudly what we wanted. I replied in my best French that we'd like to order. The Café du Port now makes Brasserie for the greatest pleasure of our taste buds and at little prices. The cocktail menu is top, with or without alcohol, it will get you fired. I tested the delicious Cosmorange, a cocktail of divine fruits for the 4th and eternal Pina Colada the perfection for the 6th. As for miam the choice is wide, seafood tray to order 48h in advance hamburger house, hot camembert, entrecôte, and I pass. We tasted hot camembert and home hamburger: delicious! The outdoor seating has a nice of the river. The staff does not speak English. Our waitperson was young and may have felt uncomfortable dealing with nonFrench speakers. She did not present us the board with the evening's specials.I had a steak, fries and salad. Nicely prepared. My wife had an interesting local dish which was a soft cheese covered with a lot of small pieces of ham and heated in a covered metal pot. She didn't care much for it. I thought it good when placed on bread.We both thought the house rose wine was on the rough side.

There does not appear to be many restaurants in Bourg. We stayed locally and did not wish to drive very far - Café du Port was the answer. A wide menu with several Plats du jour available. Good salads either as a starter or main course. The mussels were good and the entrecote looked to be very good value. Wines by the carafe or bottle. Good place!
Cafe at the roundabout - by the river and parking. I found it called La Bourgade... usually have parasols and tables outside. Great place for cafe and candy or croissant. Very friendly staff, prices slightly less expensive than in the city café and a great morning breeze. The cafe is a wonderful place next to the river.
Nice find when running late for lunch hour and many other places would have said no. It was an interesting place to sit and watch the local characters .They also have a pool table.The owners/servers were very nice and I had an excellent salad.
I was so impressed with the food and service at this bar! Seriously some of the best food during my time in France! I didn't eat that giant steak but had to post it!
