We came to Chinar just looking to cool off with beer after touring around Bukhara on a 100+degree July day. It is a beckoning and well regarded chaikana, with a casual downstairs area where you can sit or take out food and a fine dining area up the steps on the second level. We made it clear we just wanted something cold, but they insisted we sit up in the nice area, which was a bit akward at first. We were not hungry, but we ended up ordering something and were glad we did. The manty I had was of couse Uzbek style and the best style of manty I have ever had, even compared to other restaurants in Uzbekistan and our own pretty good Uzbek restaurants back in NYC.
