We were told by the waitress that the management refuses doggy bags and she felt somehow ashamed to have to tell us. The story goes as such: we had ordered 3 wiener schnitzel for 3people. As my aunt is a very small eater she only managed to eat 1 piece of schnitzel, a very generous portion by the way, and had asked the waitress to wrap up the remaining portion for her dog. We just could not believe our ears. As we are (should say "were") regular guests at this hotel, we were speechless. This place is going downhill and we are lucky to have plenty other exquisite restaurants in and around Freiburg. We feel sorry for the owner, Herr Burtsche, to have to read such reviews after his retirement....
suitable for a stay in freiburg, simple and traditional dishes, delicious and very well served. feel and attentive service. Drinks are reasonably charged, even glass champagner. because the temperatures of februr were mildly cool, I sat outside and enjoyed. service was very...effective and friendly not to be forgotten the Deli shop with great selection of baked, chocolate and tasty, they need something geduld, as always many customers.
We visited the Colombi's Cafe today. The waitress was unable to take my order of Black Forest cake. I had to stand in line at their cake counter for appr. 10 minutes to get a paper slip to give to the waitress at our table so she could get me the ordered cake. In the meanwhile, my cappucino was cold when I returned to our table. This is not acceptable for a Hotel like this! Reason to not go back there.

went on a rainy day for tea and cake. when you come in you make your choice of a huge piece of cake or torte. The cake we had was chocolate mousse and pear the slice was enormous and taste was YUMMY!!!!!!! The cake price was 3.20€ also had lemon tarte was good as well.For drinks we had cup of tea and a pot of tea it was good.Price was 3.00€ and 5.50€. Would visit again soon service was attentive.
visited for a coffee and cake. there were few people and the service was fast and attentive. most caffes in freiburg are overcrowded, so this was a pleasant surprise. the cake was pretty good and the price reasonable. in front of the hotel there is a large construction so that the ambiente is missing.
I love to sit here under the chesnut trees and watch people go by. The coffee is fanstastic and the cakes and pastries a dream . Real Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte bu also very good snacks and small dishes. The place to spent morning to afternoon and not far from the Muenster.
I know this cafe is know for the pastries, but I wanted to have lunch. The fixed price included cream of cauliflower soup, chicken and walnut cake with cinnamon ice cream. Everything was very tasty and I would go to this cafe again.

Although the caffe is operated by a 5-star hotel, management has a provincial mentality. they are calculated for hot water and after an additional teller to share too great loss with a small gain of 2 euro.
