If you want to have breakfast in Cologne, I can only recommend Café Riese. I have breakfast here for many years and the last visit to Cologne was the first point of departure. Always very smooth, the plate well filled. The beggars who are more and more part of the city's image and regularly harass the guests and sometimes several times the same people. This would have to be a little more decontamination by the staff or office.
I'd say a pretty striking place. Nice cake. I just wished more choice if it were hearty food. Sweet waiter and very fast serving. However, prices are relatively high as Merzenich. The café is very classic...for the audience at the ü40. Here you get the legendary Domwaffel .
