We stopped in here for lunch after the organ concert in the cathedral. It is so charming and cozy with a French there. We thought the food was very good though the waitress somehow misunderstood our order and failed to bring my husband's order. There...were four of us and she delivered three orders and left the table and didn't bring my husband's until he flagged her down. It might have been a communication issue when we were ordering. He eventually got his and we were all happy. It was a memorable meal and the cafe is really charming with a French vibe to it. Highly recommend it.
Café Roses is located in Passau in the pedestrian zone near the Cathedral. Drinks and simple dishes define its character. In summer you can dine at the terrace in from of the door. Service is adequate and friendly. Don’t expect gourmet dishes, the Café Roses...chefs go for easy food. We came on a Friday and the place was half busy. We went for a classical salad and Flamkuchen accompanied by a good glass of Bavarian beer. The food was OK but nothing special. We recommend Café Roses to anyone who seeks OK food in an unpretentious ambiance.
I went there today and I gave euros to the waitress . have ordered a Cappuccino. I waited for the waitress to bring back the rest of the money but she did not . I told her in English and started talking with me...with her very Bayerisch dialect . she shout out in front of everyone that she gave me back the rest . but actually she has sure that she has not. then she said if you feel fine for your Christmas I will give you your drink from my own money to make feel guilty . however, I will never go there although I liked its cosiness.
Todd and I enjoyed lunch today. Todd had fish and chips and while he couldn't determine the type of fish, he loved it. He said it was nice and light and the batter was perfect. I had a hamburger. Now I thought I was going...to get a plain burger with their special sauce and lettuce tomato onion and pickles but to my delight there was also bacon. We popped in for a light dinner due to the look from the out side. Cafe Roses is a quaint Cafe and well worth a try. Once inside we were greeted by a lovely warm interior, it was raining and cold outside, and a nice...welcome from the staff. We had the goats cheese dish and a hamburger, a glass of wine and a beer. All very simple but beautifully presented and very tasty. We would recommend Cafe Roses and will probably return before we leave Passau.
After listening to a brilliant organ recital in the Cathedral, just as it started to rain, we stumbled across this lovely cafe with space inside. days into a week river cruise, we seriously wanted something simple tasty. The three of us had...different burgers and they were all fab. I'd thoroughly recommend searching out this great little place if you're in Passau.
Rated as a cafe as this is not really a restaurant, but you can get good local food and coffee etc, and we came here twice for both. It has a charming interior with good service and not on the main drag (although visible from...it) so a bit quieter. We would readily return
Cosy atmosphere. Great food with a choice of various things something for everyone. Reasonable prices again, something for every pocket. Good selection of drinks. Friendly service. We liked it so much we went back for coffee the next day.
