Cafe Rouge Gerrards Cross

The waitress wasn't very friendly and when I asked if the house wine was a dry wine, she told me (in a very curt manner) that it was just house wine. When I asked what the house wine was, she replied (again with a condescending tone of voice) , that it was just house wine. She then got somewhat frustrated and merely placed the wine menu in my hands. The wine menu clearly stated that the house wine was a dry, fruity Compte wine. My elderly mother had pea and mint soup (but she could not taste the mint) and a dry piece of stoneground bread, with no butter. The lunch was meant to be a treat for her and was quite disappointing. On Saturday, my party of eight people booked a table at Cafe Rouge directly through their website to avoid issues experienced with other booking platforms. The process was easy and we had no problems. The food and service met our expectations, as we enjoyed the usual standard of quality. One aspect we particularly liked was that all the dishes were served to everyone at once, ensuring no one had to wait for their meal. The staff were excellent, attentive but not rushed, allowing us to have a leisurely and enjoyable evening. We had such a great experience that we plan on returning tomorrow.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was served quickly. We were not rushed at any stage and the whole experience was of relaxed dining geared to our pace and not theirs.

The restaurant had a lovely decor and the food was delicious! The servers were extremely courteous and pleasant. I would definitely return!

Here we have always found a cosy atmosphere with friendly, obliging, and competent staffWith a fairly varied and sensibly priced menu.
