Passau was once an independent state between Bavaria, Austria, Bohemia. Not it is just an ancient city with rivers where lots of cruise ships start or finish their Danube cruises. Need I say more? The sour cherry ice cream was the best I've ever had, and it was only 2 Euro! The shop also offers a variety of gingerbreads, chocolates and cakes. There are several items that are nicely packaged for you to take home as gifts. The only problem was that I couldn't read any of the labels or signs :/

We stopped here to pick up some gingerbread and decided to have coffee and dessert. My son is allergic to nuts and they were so very patient to help us find a dessert that he could eat. Since we don't speak German they were also wonderful taking the time to explain to us what each dessert was.

We were thinking of doing lunch and also cakes/coffee there. Lunch was not value for money. Their chocolate specialty drinks were disappointing, full of milk with too little chocolate for the price they were charging for. The cakes were good though.
