After two weeks of good food all around France, we were looking for a good meal before our early shuttle the following morning. We did not find it here. Acceptable starters, poor quality steak and not very pleasant desserts. When the bill came, we realised we had eaten a lot better for a lot less money in many places. We should have taken a walk across the car park to the restaurants in Cite Europe. The only saving grace was the friendly and cheerful staff.

We stayed in the Novotel, which had no restaurant. But being part of the Accor group, they offered to reserve us a table in the IBIS Hotel, which was literally on the doorstep. This was a big mistake. We waited 50 minutes for our meal,...though the Bistro was not at all full. It was clear that it did not matter to them as we were viewed as one-off customers. They're right about that!

the bar area in the ibis calais tunnel sous le some is small, but pleasant and comfortable and separated from the restaurant for those who want a drink before eating or those who do not want to use the restaurant. free wlan is also a bonus. over the street in cite europe there are bigger bars, but sometimes a quiet drink is preferred. good food, very good service. it can be so busy in this restaurant that if they reserve a table, they also have to reserve a time slot. I expected a long waiting period and was pleasantly surprised when my eating was served in time...man of the service was excellent and attentive.

menu could do with updating, it seems less choice than last year. the staff is helpful and friendly, although they wanted to plant the people together in a corner of the restaurant. choose her table and stay on it.

always a simple option for a fast meal before returning to the English Booze run service is good and the meal is sufficient. but the restaurant looks very tired and could benefit from an overhaul Book a table now
