We have visited California Tacos twice now having previously read all the glowing reviews. The food is fantastic. We have tried a selection of tacos and nachos with chicken ........and all was delicious.BUT .....don't order the margaritas.....on both visits they have been disappointing and on the last visit , undrinkable. Margaritas are such a great accompaniment to Mexican food and if California Tacos could just get this right we'd be back on a regular basis.
I didn't know what I wanted to eat besides being tasty and quick and with a hit of chilli. These guys absolutely nailed it! The chilli hit came from the chilli sauce I added but if you're not a chilli fan, they have loads of flavour. I had the chicken and fish tacos and the fish was the winner. Can't wait to try all the others.The only thing that was less than awesome was the taco chips. They were oily however it didn't ruin the overall experience.
This is a very cool place with great food, drinks and staff. Had lunch yesterday and really enjoyed it. We shared fish tacos & shrimp tacos with a couple of margaritas. The sweet potato fries were the best and the service is friendly & efficient. Its a great place to people watch and just sit back and enjoy some good food and drink. definitely worth a visit. Everything is healthy and very authentic.Its on my favorite list now.
I love this place and often stop for takeaway on the way home. But I would rather chill with friends and sit on the premises downing amazing Nachos with a mexican beer.fresh, fast, really really tasty. Im always torn between the pulled pork nachos and the fish tacos. Why choose? order both! Book a table now
I am a local and have been 5 or so times. If this place was in the US (esp Cali), it would have gone out of business. Food is expensive for average tacos and burritos (Cmon CT's it's tacos you're serving!! How are you going to serve 2 average tacos + chips + a bland "salad" for $20?).
Food was super fresh! The fish burrito was delish and the corn chips on the side were the best I've ever had. A bit of a mix up with our order but it got sorted super quick and the guy was lovely and went that extra mile and looked after us! Need to bring this place to Melbourne
Really good vegetarian tacos and margaritas. They used cactus in the vegetarian tacos which was good as its not often a substitute choice for vegetarians. So really good to be able to have something different.
Great food and atmosphere. Staff very friendly and pretty good value for money. The fish tacos were delicious my husband had meat tacos which ere a bit bland but other than that we enjoyed our meal. Book a table now
We were walking around trying to find somewhere to eat and came across this quaint little place. The food was really nice and good value. The staff were happy and friendly and we will be back.
