On my way to the Gotthard tunnel I stopped for lunch in the picturesque village of Flüelen, located at the very end of the Vierwaldstättersee Lake. Thanks to the positive reviews here I opted for Cantina Apertura, which proved a very good choice good...food and relaxed atmosphere. The lovely terrace is the main asset of this restaurant, boasting stunning views (wow over the lake and surrounding mountains. Thumbs-up to Carmen for her friendly and energetic service. The menu is short and puts focus on homemade dishes. As main course the pan-fried trout fillets were tasty and served with a generous portion of vegetables. As dessert I chose the panna cotta light and refreshing. Do not come here...
I agree with some people down there, as the view on the sea is very nice, the service is absolutely strange. we came to wander so that we were already looked strange in this posh place when we arrived. we took care of us after 25 km. when we sat a waiter, we said we could just sit on the kai, as the restaurant is full, it warns. So we had the beer on the dock and were geniunly ignored the rest of the short stay there. I laughed that in curses they try to be everything, this nonsense they might otherwise get at the soul zurich or geneva, but I was surprised how in uri we were all the other times faced with beautiful people.
I enjoyed a beer on a beautiful sunny day on the terrace of the restaurant and experienced fast service. Unfortunately, I returned some days later for a repetition experience to be ignored for only 15 minutes, while the staff with the only other males. the terrace and then went to welcome some people who drove on motorcycles. I left without anyone telling me a word. really weird! it would be a 1 review, with the exception of the first visit.
we really enjoyed the mixed salad that was tasteful, fresh and perfectly spiced. I had the pizza carbonara, which had a delicate crispy crust with ham, egg and cheese. it was amazing and more than I could eat. my partner had the tagliatelle with lemon...cream sauce. the homemade noodles were perfect and the sauce was light and summery. the personal was great and you can't beat the amazing intent.
