We have Sunday breakfast there every week . We enjoy the food it?s delicious when prepared the way we request. However there is this one waitress that we seem to get every week we are seated in the immediate front section of the restaurant she is an olderwoman ,quite brassy we don?t know her name we have never noticed a name tag or have we ever been told her name. We gave herour order and special request on our omelettes being well done ,no added oil.When we got our order my partners omelette was oilyand mine was sitting in liquid from an under cooked omelette.I pointed it out to her and she said?that?s vegetables ?honey??..adifferent waitress brought it back and asked if it was better ?.. I...
The food was fantastic! While my waitress could have been a bit friendlier, everything else was great, and I will certainly return. I visited at 8:30 AM on a Wednesday, and the restaurant was moderately busy—less than half full—but my food arrived as if I were the only customer there. The pancakes were just warm enough to barely melt the butter, but they soaked up the syrup beautifully, which was delightful. I've driven past this place too many times not to have discovered the delicious dishes that satisfy my cravings.
In 1979 I worked at this address. The restaurant was called KARTERS owned by Peter Carter and his family in the basement. There was another restaurant called the half pound pub where I cooked at the broiler station as the head broiler cook For around 10 years off and on Karters also launched my management career in the restaurant business ending up as a general manager for McDonald’s. All my thanks go out to the Karters family, especially Peter and his wife Mary.
I've been frequenting here off and on for about 15 yrs. It started off strong, then for a few years it got pretty bad. To the point we stopped going all together. We recently had to meet up with out of town family here and I was surprised to see theinside has been updated, as well as the menu (they cut their old menu with 5-6 pages, in half...which I appreciate) and the foodon the menu. Everything was hearty, fresh and good! We'll be be back....again! Book a table now
An old school diner experience, a place where you can enjoy very tasty meals. You will not leave hungry the portions are very generous. The wait staff is exceptional, awesome service and good conversation. Ms Malita is outstanding in her efforts to assure that your visit is a pleasant one ! If you 're in or traveling thru ,Brookfield take time to drop in Capitol Cafe. 2 thumbs up for the wait staff, kitchen and hostess !
This is a lovely restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and a great selection of food. Prices have increased a bit, like everywhere else, but the quality is good and the portions are generous.
My favorite place! The service is always pleasant, and the food is fantastic. It's a cozy breakfast spot with a charming country vibe and plenty of options. I haven't been let down yet!
