For dinner, I opted for the Slow Braised Carnitas, which were tender, juicy, and well-seasoned, and the accompanying refried beans were delicious. However, I found the corn tortillas to be dry and chewy. My companion chose the Grilled Fish Tacos, and while she enjoyed the fish, she was more impressed by the rice on her plate. Unfortunately, the tortillas were so dry that they cracked when she tried to pick up the tacos, making it difficult to eat. Given that corn tortillas are a staple of Mexican cuisine, it's disappointing that Carmelita's, which claims to make their tortillas fresh, fell short in this regard. Despite this issue, we had a good overall experience, and I'm willing to give C...

The garlic shrimp has no garlic to be seen and is more of a red spicy sauce with onions. The corn tortillas are subpar like they were mixed with something to hold them together. The garlic shrimp Caesar comes with no avocado. Kind of a cheep place with really high prices. We won’t be back. Service charge at the end is a hidden fee too.

We are from the great state of Texas and have been to Carmelita’s twice when visiting the beach. We love it! Enchiladas were flavorful and the tortilla soup was served in a huge portion and with a delicious broth. Prices were reasonable, even by Texas standards! We will come back next year!

Service was fast and good, but the place is very expensive for mediocre food and smaller portions. Drinks are wildly average for how expensive they are. Overall vibe is a weird mix of tourist and “people who probably wish they were clubbing in the middle of the day.” Book a table now

This place was bomb!!!! Sooo fresh and delicious!!! I forgot what we got but we had to order two rounds of the (taquitos? pictured on the left on the guac. And the chips were salted to perfection with freshly made as you can taste the hot oil seeping out. Must try

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in all of Orange County. The shrimp and crab enchiladas are a must-try, and the chicken enchilada soup is fantastic.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The worker named Ommar was so rude to us we will never be coming back.

The food was quite good. It's a very busy place, and it tends to get quite crowded. Definitely a popular spot! Book a table now
