I dined at Carmody's last week with some family and friends. I read the reviews which described the venue as fine dining and took a double take when i realised this venue was at a football club. I more expected a Bistro style dining experience. I was tremendously surprised and pleased with my experience. When we arrived (it being a club) we had to sign in. Explained to the desk staff we were eating at Carmody's and they simply said we needed to be a member or a member of another club to get signed in. The Lady at the front desk suggested one of us join for $7.00 to enjoy a member discount. I happily joined and spent the $700 and enjoyed a far greater discount on the restaurant bill than the m...

On attending a sporting club my general expectations of the cuisine were moderate. Carmody's is the premier-end of the various eating options at the Southport Sharks facility, and we were in for a fantastic surprise! The food was extraordinary! Pork belly was done to perfection, and steak was the best I have had on the Gold Coast. Then came dessert! If you want an extraordinary experience, the apple/cranberry crumble was probably the finest dessert I have eaten in 5 years. Multiple flavours to complement the crumble, and a delightful finish that was not too sweet. Perfect end to a lovely meal. The staff were about average in their service, and the Manager is a delightful gentleman. In an are...
We attended Carmody's on Thursday night for their new menu 3 course meal very reasonably priced at below $60 with Drinks at normal Sharks Bar price. The atmosphere was anything but Sharks normal atmosphere. We were positioned on the perimeter of the restaurant where we could view the lit lush green footy oval. The meals were beautifully presented.I had Lumpa, which was to die for tasting spring rolls, then the salmon for main course to finish with the wow factor of the evening being their artistically presented apple crumble desert with berries and caramel sauce. This was presented on a long tray with restaurant made ice cream. The crumble was served in a little saucepan. We were so impressed no...
We went to Carmody's for my husband's birthday & enjoyed the "ladies lunch' menu which was very well priced for 3 courses. The barramundi was cooked to perfection and the pana-cota was delectable. The service is always first class and the restaurant is bright and cheerful. We would dine there regularly if we lived on the Gold Coast. It's definitely worth joining the club as you get your money back after one birthday meal. Book a table now
It is a lovely restaurant with, in our experience, excellent staff. The food is fairly expensive and a bit of a let-down. The mains we had (pork belly and roast duck) were dry with very little sauce and even less vegetables. The desserts looked like they were priced reasonably but we didn't try one. All in all, at over $120 for the meal plus wine, we don't intend going back.
Dined here recently for a birthday dinner and experience was pretty good. Restaurant pitches itself as fine dining ($40 mains, $35-$60 steaks) but unfortunately doesn't deliver the high quality food that one would expect from the prices. Presentation is great and staff terrific and very professional and attentive but taste isn't amazing. Great but not amazing.
The service was excellent, with friendly and engaging staff. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the pork spare ribs. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, making it a perfect spot to impress someone or a client. The restaurant has an upmarket feel to it.
Great night out. The variety of food was excellent and catered for all the needs of my friends. Namely vegetarian and gluten free. Good value for money and excellent serviceLiked the idea that no one hassled you to leave. Able to take time to enjoy my friends Book a table now
