Every week, I go to this restaurant and always order the same thing: a medium vanilla/chocolate cone. However, I've noticed that the cone is filled just a bit more than a child's size. When I ordered a large, I expected it to be different, but it was filled the same way. I asked if this was really a large, and I was disappointed. I’ve decided I won’t be coming back. They seem very cheap and don’t seem to care about their customers. Plus, there’s a constant turnover of employees, which makes me think they’re treated poorly as well. I’m going to take my business elsewhere and find a place that offers a fair price for the same product.
We usually buy Carvel ice cream from a location closer to our home in Freehold. However, my husband recently stopped by the Park Place Diner next to the Carvel on Route 34 and picked some up in a cooler bag, so we decided to try it. I was surprised to discover that the same brand of ice cream could taste so different; this one is clearly better. It’s rich and absolutely delicious! Now, we prefer to go there whenever we can. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that sometimes the portions can be inconsistent, and we receive significantly less ice cream in the cup.
I visited this Carvel twice this week, and on one occasion, I received a stale cone. When I returned the next day and mentioned the stale cone to the staff, they just stared at me blankly and said, "Oh, that happened." There was no offer to replace the cone, no discount, and no apology—just a simple, "Oh." I really miss Rita's being nearby because I definitely wouldn't come back here again. If you do decide to go, it's safer to just get your ice cream in a cup.

In a market filled with numerous 4 and 5-star ice cream shops, Carvel seems to have lost its relevance. They simply can't compete with the small, locally owned ice cream boutiques that offer unique and inventive flavors in both soft serve and hard ice cream.
The restaurant staff were incredibly friendly and efficient! They genuinely paid attention to the customers. The young employees demonstrated great respect, which is a testament to their training.
We always make a point to visit Carvel whenever we're in the area. The place is always clean, and the ice cream on their menu is consistently delicious!
Good place for ice cream cake.. If you need a special order make sure to give them at least a couple days to make it
