I was here last week, table of 4. The menu at night (Thursday) was a joke, 4/5 entrees and 4 main dishes (3 steak and a 1 fish/fries), so it was not much choices to start with, good thing i like steak. We took entrecote, bavette and salad (yes, they have 4/5 salads on the menu) , all came with french fries and salad (terrible dressing). Food was below average, we received our plates 2 minutes after ordering, humm...The waiter keep asking us if we were ready to order, we told him we are having a drink and will look at menu, but he kept coming back at the table every 2 minutes so we ordered. We were trying to find somewhere to eat on a Monday evening, so I stopped a local lady who suggested Le Grand Café in the Casino Area. As it was a Buffet style eatery it was up to oneself to choose what you wanted. There must have been at least 20 Starters and about 5 main courses and then another 20 desserts and cheeses. all for 20 Euros. You could even have aStarter and Main course or main course and dessert for 16 Euros, So I am quite shocked by some of the comments on Trip advisor. As it is self service so how can the service be slow?
Had lunch with family here. I had great memories of this place as a child and I am glad that it did not disappoint. If fact, it was better! Lunch consisted of starter buffet, the BBQ main buffet (which included a choice of beef, pork, fish) and dessert buffet had a great choice. There were individual dessert items as well as a chocolate fountain with a selection of tasty treats with it. Really enjoyed this lunch and staff were very friendly and attentive.
Yesterday was not my first visit to this restaurant.,I have been coming from time to time during the last 20 years and have witnessed some changes.Yesterday,every thing was perfect,we were very well received by the Maitre D and our order was quickly taken.All the foodstuffs were in excellant condition and we ate well,

you can make a reservation for a warm or cold buffet.we made a reservation for both. the buffet was very good, enough choices. nice ambiance and a very good staff. there is also a small open kitchen for the warm buffet. good price ca. 20 euro p/person. you can have dinner in -and outside on the terrace.
We had dinner here the first day of our stay in Vichy. We took a 2 course menu, 16.5 Euros. Buffet starters and then choice of main course. Buffet was not good, tomatoes not fresh, shrimps very poor. Not attractive or tasty. Nain course was nothing much either. I would not recommend.
Stopping here for a quick drink was a poor choice. The service was incredibly slow and the price of the drink a little excessive. The attention to care of the customer is dreadful and the glass arrived not just a little bit dirty, but as if it had not been washed at all.
Awful food. 2 of our 7 had to send the food back. It could have been 4 of us. Food came out worrying quickly and was woefully undercooked. As it was second time. Poor service as overworked waitress. Even the bull took 15 minutes. Probably the worst meal I’ve ever had.

Had great expectations. Buffet looked good and was told the main course was veal and or ham on the bone. How wrong we were. The veal and ham was tasteless. The aubergine side dish was awful. The starters were just stodge and overall it was a terrible meal.
I'll keep this short and to the point. Avoid at all costs...There are much better places in Vichy to have lunch!
